2 camping packs  //  1 tech pack  //  9 months' preparation

A tribute to our home of the last two years. New York City, you merit an independent post on your own. But for now, I will see you again for a short while in April and Lauren will see you next time she's there...

First day. After months of planning and numerous failed attempts at saving, our trip is here. Being commenced by 36 hours of airports and flying time, the next post will be covering the airport experience!

Below is where most of our money went; two GoPros, a DSLR camera, tripod, selfie stick, GoalZero solar kit, and other miscellaneous pieces. Hopefully, if time permits, we will post reviews of these products as we hike, camp, and kayak.

Another huge chunk of our money went to camping gear; sleeping bags, sleeping pads, water bladders, tent, chairs, cook ware, and a lot of other small stuff that add up to be almost as much as the primary pieces of camping.

Everything is packed and we are off to the airport. This is our first international flight, excluding Canada, and the process was pretty smooth. They checked our bags which were substantially under weight and our carryons were over the weight limit, but the attendant didn't seem to be bothered by it.

And now off to Beijing International Airport (PEK).
